On Thursday, March 25th 2026, a Photographic Exhibition of “Holy Week in Guatemala” was organized by the Embassy of Guatemala at the Embassy’s Cultural Centre.
During the event, various photographs of the Guatemalan Holy Week were exhibited along with a traditional carpet and display of a religious procession, depicted through the ‘Cucurucho’ costumes worn by the penitents who carry the “Anda” during Holy Week in Guatemala.
The event was attended by representatives of the Guatemalan community living in India, members of the Diplomatic Corps, and representatives from the Government of India, all of them were briefed about the history and importance of the event in Guatemala including a screening of an informative documentary on the history, traditions, and various cultural aspects of Holy Week in Guatemala.
