OUR EMBASSY

Welcome to the website of the Embassy of Guatemala in India, which was inaugurated in October 15 2014. The Embassy of Guatemala in India is concurrent to Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The Embassy of the Republic of Guatemala in India is the sole official representation of the Guatemalan Government in the Republic of India along with the Honorary Consuls located in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.

Currently, the strategic and working axes of the Embassy of Guatemala in India focuses on the following areas:

1. Strengthen the bilateral relation of Guatemala with India and with the concurrent countries: Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
2. Promote access to the Indian market for Guatemalan exports.
3. Promote the commercial and trade relation between Guatemala and India.
4. Promote Guatemala as a tourist destination.
5. Promote Guatemalan culture.
6. Provide consular protection to Guatemalans living in or visiting India and in the concurrent countries (Bangladesh, Nepal y Sri Lanka).
7. Protect Guatemala’s interests.
8. Assist the Indian community in consular processes, which includes visa procedures and legalization of documents.

Guatemala: A good option for investment

Guatemala offers an excellent option as an investment destination, as it is part of Latin America, which represents the second fastest growing region in terms of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Guatemala has a privileged geographical location, in the centre of the American continent. Guatemala is located in the close proximity with Mexico and to the United States of America, and with both countries Guatemala also has also Free Trade Agreements. Guatemala has an excellent commercial opening, modern infrastructure, developed telecommunications services, technology and amazing natural resources.
