Josué Abel Diaz Villegas



Mr. Josue Abel Diaz Villegas, he is a career diplomat who joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala on December 07, 2011. His experience has been taken in several positions starting his career as Technician in the Financial Direction, followed as Second Secretary in the Directorate General of Protocol 2012-2019, Viceconsul in the General Consulate of Guatemala in Belize 2019-2022 and was posted as First Secretary and Consul at the Embassy of Guatemala to the Republic of India since April 2022.

He has studies in Public Administration and Communication, and diplomats in Foreign Policy and Foreign Investment to Latin America. He speaks, writes and understands Spanish and English.

His wide experience on Protocol has been as part of the coordination of several Assemblies and Summits like the 43 Ordinary General Assembly of the OAS (2013), 17TH Senior Official’s Metting FEALAC (2016). XXVI Iberoamerican Summit (2018). In the Consular side, during his tenure in Belize he was responsible of the coordination for repatriation of Guatemalan nationals and non-accompanied minors, he advice and assisted the Guatemalan detainees for immigration irregularities, he also was part of the work group to assist and protect the Guatemalan communities living in the adjacency zone between Guatemala and Belize.

As First Secretary and Consul at the Embassy of Guatemala to India he has been responsible of all the consular matters and administrative staff coordination, also the accounts of the Embassy.
