About Atitlan Lake (Panajachel)
(Lake Atitlan) The deepest lake in Central America is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Guatemala.
It was nominated to be one of the seven 7 New Wonders of the World for its amazing landscape which is formed by three imposing volcanoes surrounding the lake: Atitlán, Tolimán and San Pedro.
It was formed approximately 84,000 years ago by a volcanic eruption and today it is 4.921 feet above sea level, 59 feet long and 1118 feet deep.
